Roy Kenan VarnerRoy Kenan Varner, age 64, died at his home in San Antonio, Texas, on December 28, 2015, after a lengthy struggle with illness.Born March 9, 1951, in Monroe, LA to John Woodrow Varner and Katherine (Wroten) Varner. He graduated from Ouachita Parish High School, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and LSU School of Dentistry. He married Nancy Farmer on December 27, 1994.He practiced as a dentist in West Monroe, LA and at Dental Plus in DeRidder, LA until health problems resulted in early retirement in 2002. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of San Antonio, TX, niece, Lauren Thomas of Carriere, MS, nephew, Jay Thomas of Memphis, TN, aunt, Margery Wroten of West Monroe, LA and many friends and cousins. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Varner Thomas and brother, John Woodrow Varner, Jr.A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
