Graveside service for Mr. Samuel Slaton, 56, of West Monroe will be held at 3:30PM Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Mrs. Georgia Sanderson officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mr. Slaton passed away on September 25, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a Computer Aided Draftsman and longtime employee of Mustang Engineering. Sam was a loving husband, father and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Virginia Slaton; daughter, Jodi Slaton; brother, Jimmy Juneau; and nephew Andy Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Slaton of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Diana “Cissy” Gooden of Monroe, LA; stepsons, Victor Young of Austin, TX; and Spencer Young of Calhoun, LA; sister, Sandra Slaton of West Monroe, LA; A Loving “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Jordan Slaton, Dani Gooden and Austin Butler; step grandchildren, Cameron, “Baby Girl” Alayna, Landry and Carson Young; special cousin who was like a brother, Michael Medaries and wife Deb; two nephews, David Lowrey and Shane Juneau; longtime friends, John Barfoot and Kenny Linn; many other friends and family members.
Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 3:00PM Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with the service following at the cemetery.
