Funeral services for Shirley B. Johnson, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, October 1, 2010, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. David Worthington and Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Johnson passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She graduated from Baylor University and received her Master’s Degree from ULM. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of North Monroe Baptist Church, and a very active member of both the American Business Women’s Association and Helping Hands Homemakers.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas A. Johnson; parents, Orville F. and Grace Brady; and sister, Audrey Reiland.

Survivors include her son, Robert Johnson and wife Angela; stepsons, Jeffrey Johnson and wife Shelia, and Toby Johnson; grandchildren, Dutch, Kelly, Amanda and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Connor, Kahlan, Cole, Damian, Donovan, and Chandler, sister, Orvella Arnotte and husband Ross; two nieces, and one nephew.

Pallbearers will include Frankie Miletello, Scooter Howard, Presley Parks, Randall King, Max Funderburk, and Charles Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Richard and Marcy Richards.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the North Monroe Baptist Church Building Fund.
