Shirley Brooks Maddux

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Brooks Maddux, 89, of Middleburg, FL will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Mrs. Maddux’s nephew, Rev. John Albright, officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery where she will rest in eternal peace beside her husband of 62 years, George Maddux, Jr., who pre-deceased his wife in August, 2008.

Mrs. Maddux passed away September 30, 2011 in her home in Middleburg, FL after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 6, 1922 to William Wesley and Rosie Bell Brooks in Clay, LA. Mrs. Maddux and her husband lived in Monroe, LA until October, 2000 when they moved to Florida to be close to their daughter and her family. Shirley worked as a licensed beautician for more than 50 years and had many loyal clients and friends.

Mrs. Maddux is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Lynch and son-in-law, Robert Lynch; granddaughter, Kimberley Hall and husband Dennis Hall; brother-in-law, Charles Albright; cousin, Aubrey Brooks; several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.

The family will receive friends in the mausoleum chapel from 12:00 PM until service time on Friday, October 7, 2011. In accordance with the deceased wishes, there will be no viewing.
