Funeral Services for Sue Ellen Briggs
Williams, 72, of West Monroe, LA will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 29,
2013 at White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, LA with Mike Kellett
and David Bromley officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery, West
Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.


 


Sue Ellen Briggs Williams was born July
12, 1941 in Pineville, LA and passed away December 26, 2013 in West Monroe, LA.



 


Susie, as she was called affectionately
by her husband, Jack, of 52 years, was a doting wife, mother, and grandmother
and nothing gave her greater joy than hearing the words, “I love you, Nana! I
love you, Gran!” Sue was a beloved teacher and mentor at West Monroe High
School from 1964-1993, where she touched the lives of many teenagers with her
sharp wit and genuine caring. Sue was a long standing member of Beta Psi
Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Teacher Fraternity. She faithfully
gave to others supporting the House of Hope Children’s Home in Nebya, Dominican
Republic and many other outreach projects of the White’s Ferry Road Church. Sue
loved her country and her Lord and truly was a tireless servant especially to
her family. She will be incredibly missed and fondly remembered. Sue was
preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Ruby Briggs.


 


Survivors include her husband, Jack
Allen Williams (Coach Jack); sons, Jay Williams and wife, Judy, Steve Williams
and wife, Rhonda and Mike Williams and wife, Missy; and grandchildren, Houston,
Susanna, John Thomas, Callie, and Silas.


 


Pallbearers will be Jay Williams, Steve
Williams, Mike Williams, Bobby Folsom, David Dement, and Jason Bennett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Houston and John Thomas Williams.


 


Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. until
8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.


 


Memorials may be made to Louisiana
Baptist Children’s Home.
