Tex Nolan passed away on Friday, January 30, 2021, at the age of 76. After several months of declining health, Tex died peacefully with his beloved wife Jan by his side.

Tex was born in Farmerville on July 1, 1944, to father, Lester Harry Nolan and mother, Daisy Ann Bearden Nolan. He and his twin brother, Rex were the oldest of five children. He was an active member of Forsythe Church of Christ for many years. He loved God and he loved his family. Tex attended Northeast Louisiana College. He worked any odd jobs he could find starting at an early age. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to him entering the sales field where he was a “natural”. Everybody loved Tex!

Tex was an active member of AA for 36 years, where he worked diligently to help others find sobriety and peace through the program. He believed that no matter how far down the scale we have gone; we will see how our experience can benefit others. And he carried that belief for the rest of his life.

Tex was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Rex and his nephew, Mark Nolan. He is survived by his wife, Jan Nolan; children, Melissa Hartsfield (Mick), Leslie French (Chris); grandchildren, William Connor French, Jackson Thomas French, and Claire Harper Hartsfield; brother, Tony Nolan (Rose), sisters, Linda Hobson, Connie Wagner (Steve); and numerous nieces and nephews.

People wishing to honor Tex’s lifelong commitment of service to others, please make donations to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, 4600 Central Avenue, Monroe, LA 71203.
