Funeral services for Mr. Tony Jack Halley, 75, of Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Swartz First Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Halley passed away Monday, June 23, 2008. He was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church, Louis Auttonberry’s Sunday School Class, the George Walker Masonic Lodge, and a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Halley was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Local #798 Pipeliners Union. He continued working into his retirement as a welding inspector, chief inspector and inspector/construction consultant on projects throughout the United States and every continent with the exception of Antarctica. His hobbies included carving, wood working and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Halley was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Zack Spence; brothers, J. D. Halley and Mickey Joe Halley; and sister, Claudie Rutherford Standridge.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Mrs. Betty Lee Halley; children, Toni Dianne Halley Moore and husband David R. of Start, LA, and Gina Rene’ Halley Spence and husband Randy of Farmerville, LA; four grandchildren, Chad Moore and wife Laura of Monroe, Kyle Moore of Start, Randi Spence of Baton Rouge, LA, and T. J. Spence of Farmerville; two great grandchildren, Shelby and Josh Moore of Monroe; brother, Bill Halley and wife Harriett; sisters, Dorothy Gilmore and husband Tommy, Mollie Sutton and husband Wayne, Nell Whitt and husband John, and Lynette Knight; sisters-in-law, Rita Halley, and Frenchie Halley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Hare, Wesley Jinks, David Speir, Jessie Roberts, Bruce King, and Jerry Freeland. Honorary pallbearers will be the Louis Auttonberry Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the Swartz First Baptist Church Building Fund.
