Yvonne Defee Stokes

Funeral services for Yvonne Defee Stokes, 74, of Sterlington, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2012, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Elder Derrell Holland and Rev. Jerry Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Stokes passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was a member of Spencer Baptist Church and enjoyed racing, yard work, and her family. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Geraldine Defee; and brother, G. W. Defee.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Sidney Stokes; daughter, Patricia Holland and husband Derrell of Sterlington; son, Dennis Stokes of Rayville; four grandchildren, Shelley Kelly, Denni Stokes, Addie Stokes, and Emma Stokes; two great grandchildren, Nick Nale and Nate Snowdy; and two nieces.
Pallbearers will be Charles Thomas, Jimmy Hollis, Burl McGee, Billy Spencer, Gary Dunham, and Joe Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Cook, Brandon Albritton, and Glen Smithwick.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
